Plano Dentists at Imagecare Dental

Dr. Stephen Tran was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  He grew up in Tulsa and graduated high school there.  After high school, Dr Tran went on to the University of Oklahoma to receive his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry .  Shortly thereafter he attended dental school in Oklahoma City at the Oklahoma Health and Science Center.  Immediately after dental school, Dr Tran moved to the Dallas area.

If you ask Dr Tran why he left Oklahoma for Texas and he’ll say “That’s where the teeth are!”  Jokes aside, Dr Tran married Leann who lived in Dallas at the time.  Dr Tran currently has one daughter and more children are in plans for the future.

Because of his membership in the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Tran is motivated to pursue continuing education in many aspects of dentistry.  Dr. Tran is on track to receive his Fellowship from the Academy (500 Hrs of Continuing Education and passing a rigorous test)  The continuing education list so far has included pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, implant restoration, practice management, occlusion, and orthodontics.  

Dr. Tran’s focus now is on Invisalign (invisible braces) and traditional braces.  He is a certified Invisalign provider and is completing a 2 year study program for straight wire orthodontics.  

Operation Smile is a program that Dr. Tran contributes to that helps repair children born with cleft lips and cleft palate around the world.  It’s an organization that utilizes the skills of different health specialties including plastic surgeons and dentists.  Dr. Tran is on the list to go to an underprivileged part of the world to donate his time and abilities.

Dr. Tran’s main goal is to build a long-term relationship between the staff and patients and provide high quality, high value, and consumer friendly dental services for the entire family.  

Outside of the office, Dr Tran enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.  Hobbies include watching football, playing chess, and playing tennis.  Even outside of work, Dr Tran considers dentistry a hobby because of the ever changing technologies and practice techniques.
