Curious about what a full mouth reconstruction can do for you?

Address the Health & Beauty of Your Smile in One Treatment

Treat Oral Health Issues

A full mouth reconstruction is designed to address all types of oral health issues, from misalignment and joint disorders to gum disease and infection. Treating these issues can save your smile from further damage and tooth loss

Improve Comfort and Function

Missing or badly damaged teeth make it difficult to chew healthy, nutritious foods and greatly reduce your quality of life. By restoring balance, strength, and integrity to your smile, a reconstruction can help you enjoy the foods you love again.

Achieve Lifelike Results

A full mouth reconstruction is designed to complement your unique appearance, so the results will be natural-looking yet dramatic. We use only high-quality materials to ensure that your restorations look and feel great for years to come.

We can combine procedures to address different aspects of your smile, from missing teeth to discoloration.

But Isn't a Full Mouth Reconstruction Expensive?

Your total treatment cost will depend on several factors, including the complexity of your case and treatment goals. Our doctors will work with you to select procedures that fit your plan and ensure that they meet your budget.

Some patients choose to stage their treatment over several sessions to make it more affordable. Additionally, because a full mouth reconstruction is considered restorative, some of your procedures may be covered by dental insurance. We are in-network with many insurance plans and also accept financing through CareCredit® and LendingClub.

Here is what you can expect throughout the different stages...

Initial Consultation

During your consultation, we will perform a complete dental exam and advanced imaging to identify areas of concern. We might also begin preliminary treatment, such as periodontal care or addressing areas of decay during this visit.

Treatment Planning

Our dentists spend several hours evaluating your needs and planning your custom full mouth reconstruction. We will evaluate how to stage your treatments in order to ensure optimal results. We will also take your budget, schedule, and other preferences into account.

Dental Impressions

If your treatment involves dental crowns, bridges, or dentures, we will take highly detailed impressions of your teeth as well as measure your bite. This information will be used to create a wax-up, which is a model of your restorations.

Reconstruction Appointments

Depending on your specific needs, the reconstructive procedures may take place over several appointments. If you need bone grafting or dental implants, these procedures will require several months of recovery time to allow you to heal.

Temporary Restorations

Throughout treatment, we may provide temporary restorations to help you eat and smile confidently while your smile heals. You will typically wear these temporaries anywhere from four weeks to several months during your recovery.

Full mouth reconstruction to restore worn or damaged smiles

Imagecare Dental Patient Smiling After Full Mouth Reconstruction

Full mouth reconstruction is a term used to refer to the rebuilding of both the top and bottom teeth to restore natural beauty, bite and function. People who need full mouth reconstruction are those with age worn or damaged smiles. The damage could come from years of clinching and grinding, accidents, or broken down crowns and fillings. Those who are facing the loss of all of their teeth may be a candidate for the All-on-4® implant solution.

Some people call full mouth reconstruction a smile makeover.

This patient came to Imagecare with TMJ issues, facial pain, worn teeth and broken down fillings. Dr. Thompson removed the failing dental work and restored her mouth with beautiful all porcelain crowns. The result is a stunning looking, comfortable smile that functions as great as it looks.

What are the steps of full mouth reconstruction?

A full mouth reconstruction is a very complex process. Your dentist will spend hours of time behind the scenes evaluating and planning your reconstruction. It starts with a series of photos, impressions of your teeth and accurate registration of your bite. Based on this information a full mouth replica of the proposed new teeth is fabricated in wax by our dental technician. Once this step is complete we will schedule your reconstruction appointment. Depending on your unique situation you may have more than one visit. The first visit is to restore any underlying problems so that you will have a strong foundation. After the teeth are prepared for their restorations we will place prototype (temporary) restorations to ensure comfort, function and esthetics. You will wear the temporary restorations for approximately 2-4 weeks while your new teeth are being crafted. Once your new teeth are ready we will try them, give you time to evaluate and once you give us your approval we will bond them in place.
