Teeth Whitening

Dr. Imperial: So whitening is basically just brightening of your smile. Sometimes that can be done here in the office or at home with whitening trays. Here in the office, we utilize Zoom whitening, which is basically a procedure where we apply a whitening agent and activate it with a blue light. And you actually get the whiter result while you're here in the office. It's a very, very quick procedure. We also send you home with whitening trays, so that's the other way to whiten your teeth. You apply the gel inside the whitening trays, put it in your mouth, and then you whiten at your own pace at home. Dr. Thompson: Well, teeth whitening is a really simple way to improve the appearance of your smile. You know, there's a lot of different ways to whiten your teeth. There's in-office whitening. There's take-home whitening. But once your teeth are whitened, typically, you can anticipate the effects of the whitening to last at least a year. It kind of depends on your habits. You know, if you're a red wine drinker, if you're a smoker, you know, if you do other things like that that would restain your teeth, then, obviously, they're going to stain up a lot quicker. The nice thing is that we have the capability of providing our patients a take-home tray system, where they can touch up their teeth periodically to maintain their whiteness indefinitely.
