Before and after dentures

3 Ways Dentures Improve the Look, Feel & Function of Your Smile

Rejuvenate Your Appearance

Left untreated, missing teeth can make your cheeks and lips look hollow, giving you a prematurely aged appearance. By replacing most or all of your teeth at once with advanced options like All-on-4®, dentures can make your facial features look fuller and younger.

Enjoy Your Favorite Foods

Missing teeth can make it difficult to eat certain foods like apples and steak. Dentures can enhance your ability to chew these foods, which can improve your nutrition and overall health.

Stop Worrying About Mishaps

Ill-fitting dentures can move or make noise, causing discomfort and embarrassment. At Imagecare Dental Group in Plano, TX, we also offer implant restorations that are more stable and secure than traditional restorations.

We Excel at Correcting Even the Most Complex Issues

I have been going there for many many years. They always have the best hygienist! In the past I have tried other dental practices because of insurance reasons, and I have never been anywhere even close to as good as image care. The office is super clean and all the staff including the front desk are super friendly. I have had a several different hygienist and they have all been top notch. I have areas of sensitivity and they are very gentle. It is always a very pleasant experience...

A Closer Look at Implant-Supported Dentures

While implant-supported dentures are pricier than conventional dentures, they are quickly becoming the more popular option for patients with missing teeth. Implant-retained dentures like the All-on-4 method offer several unique benefits not offered by conventional dentures.

Jawbone Preservation

Dental implants are designed to replace missing tooth roots. Similarly to tooth roots, dental implants help to deliver nutrients to the jawbone and prevent premature bone recession. By keeping this bone intact, dental implants can help you maintain a healthy jaw and a youthful facial structure.

Improved Stability

While our conventional dentures are carefully designed to fit securely over your gums, accidents can still happen and conventional dentures can slip out of place at the most inopportune moments. Because implant-supported dentures are attached to the jaw, they will always stay put and will never make noise.

Less Cleanup Required

Many of our patients know that traditional dentures can be messy. Between removing them while you sleep and applying a denture adhesive between each wear, traditional dentures are simply high-maintenance. Meanwhile, implant dentures can be worn while you sleep and cared for just like your natural teeth

We Carefully Perform Every Step of the Process to Ensure Your Comfort

Your treatment will be completed over several appointments at our Plano, TX, office. If you decide that implant dentures are right for you, your care will generally consist of several steps:
"We use several methods to ensure your comfort during every step of the process."
"We use several methods to ensure your comfort during every step of the process."

Dental Exam

During your first visit, we will perform a comprehensive dental exam and imaging. One of our dentists will inform you of your treatment options and help you decide which types of dentures are right for you.
Number 1

Preparatory Treatments

Some patients require periodontal treatment, tooth extractions, or bone augmentation prior to receiving dentures. At Imagecare Dental Group, we offer comprehensive dentistry and can perform preparatory treatments on-site.
Number 2

Dental Implant Surgery

If you are receiving implant-supported dentures, the next step is dental implant surgery. Our dentists perform digitally guided implant surgery to ensure precise placement and successful treatment outcomes. Sedation is available.
Number 3

Impressions

Once all preparatory treatments are complete, we will take impressions of your smile so that we can design your custom dentures. We also use advanced digital imaging software so that you can see what your custom dentures will look like before we fabricate them.
Number 4

Fabrication

When you are happy with your proposed treatment plan, we will begin fabricating your custom dentures. Because we have an on-site lab, we are able to craft custom dentures more efficiently than other dentists. During this stage, you may be asked to visit our office for fittings.
Number 5

Final Delivery

Before sending you home with your new dentures, one of our doctors will ensure that the look, fit, and feel is up to our standards. We will also provide comprehensive instructions to help you care for your new dentures.
Number 6

The Lifespan of Dentures

When properly maintained, quality dentures typically last 7-10 years depending on several factors, such as the type of denture and changes in the shape of your mouth. Since implants help stabilize the shape of your jaw bone and the surrounding tissue, a pair of implant-supported dentures tends to last longer. While implants can last a lifetime, the attached dentures can still be worn down and warp over time, like other types of dentures.

How to Make Your Dentures Last

Following a proper maintenance routine can help make your dentures last longer and save you money in the long term by requiring fewer replacements. While your specific instructions may vary depending on your type of dentures, you can apply general maintenance tips such as:

Talk to our dentists first before trying dental adhesives; they are not a replacement for good-fitting dentures, and are meant to help patients seeking extra stability or who experience conditions like dry mouth.

Do not use your normal toothbrush or toothpaste to clean your dentures since they can damage the material. Use a soft-bristle brush and dedicated cleaning solution for your type of denture.

Practice good hygiene habits by brushing twice a day, including your gums and tongue. At night, remove your dentures and soak them in an approved cleaning solution or water.

Schedule regular checkups and cleanings at our Plano dental office so we can make any adjustments, prevent bacteria buildup, and check on your overall oral health.

If your dentures feel loose or break, call our office at (972) 618-5000 so we can make adjustments or order a replacement. We offer 24/7 emergency dentistry so you don't have to wait for assistance.

How Much Do Dentures Cost?

Each denture treatment plan is unique to each patient, so the price will differ from person to person. The price of your dentures will vary depending on several factors:

Number of Missing Teeth

If you are missing all of your natural teeth, you will probably need a full arch replacement. However, patients who still have some healthy teeth may qualify for partial dentures or other less expensive options.

Preparatory Treatments

If you require tooth extractions, gum treatment, or bone grafting prior to treatment, these procedures can increase the overall cost of your dental care.

Type of Dentures

If you choose implant-supported dentures over conventional dentures, the immediate cost of implant surgery will also raise the cost of your treatment (but they can also save money over time).

Why Our Prices Differ From Other Dentists

Many dentists advertise "affordable dentures" or "budget-friendly dentures." While it can be tempting to choose a dentist who offers low prices, patients need to be careful to avoid choosing an inexperienced dentist with little training in restorative dentistry.

When you choose Imagecare Dental Group for your dentures treatment, you can expect high-quality service at a fair price. We are one of the few dental practices in Plano, TX, that offers:
