When I was growing up through high school, I was going to be a pediatrician. I swore I was going to be a pediatrician. I had family members who were doctors and nurses. And as I was getting ready to go to college, right before I left for college, in fact, I had my own cleaning with my childhood dentist and I told him how I was ready to be a pediatrician. He said, "Why don't you just watch me one day and just see what I do?" And so I did. I observed him for a little bit, for a week, in fact, before I went off to college, and I was just so amazed that what he was doing. So I went off to college the next week later as a pre-dental student. I love the patient interaction. I feel like there's not many jobs out there that you can be so close and be so one-on-one with somebody. You're helping them and you're solving some sort of problem. I've been seeing the same patients for, you know, over a decade now, and I just find that having this type of relationship with them is just very powerful.
