Veneers

You know veneers are a very useful tool in our tool bag when it comes to cosmetic dentistry. Veneers allow us to reshape the teeth, recolor the teeth, and design the type of smile and tooth configuration that our patients want. Veneers are a very thin piece of porcelain that's placed on the surface of the teeth. Sometimes we wrap it around the side a little bit, and sometimes we wrap it over the edge again. But one analogy that I have for veneers is if, ladies, if you've ever had your nails done, you know, where you've had fake nails put on, and how that nail covers your nail and covers imperfections, and then your nail person can color that whatever the color they want to color it. Well, it's kind of the same concept in dentistry, with the exception that veneers stay on much better than fake nails do, and you don't have to have your veneers redone, you know, every month or so as your nails grow out.
